[Silver is Silver is Silver. Upon finally waking up, he immediately tries to pull himself up... And it's a bad idea. His head spins. Despite the fact that he's awake, he's still very weak, and trying to act like he's not gave him a big reminder of that. He rethinks his actions and slowly pulls himself up into a seated position.

So where is he? What time is it? How long has he been out? ...Where's his journal? That's the most important thing right now, he has to-

[His handwriting is downright awful, but it's legible, especially since he's slow enough about it. And he only has one thing to say.]

Is it over yet? None of you died, right?

[The you is directed at the people he knows, but he is far too drained to make that distinction or ask much else. ...Might be a good idea to let him know just how late to the party he is.

Or visit him. There's always the visiting option, although that option might not be pretty; as long as it's been, it still doesn't change the fact that he more or less looks like he's about to die, like he won't open his eyes if he closes them again. He barely even has the energy to hold himself upright.

But company would be nice, especially since he's... Not exactly going anywhere. He has his Pokémon, of course, they're all but hovering over him because he's okay and he's finally awake (jeez guys, calm down,) and he even has Chandelure in his arms (because he needs to be reassured that everything's alright and that he Did Good,) but it would be reassuring to see that everyone's, you know. Okay.

And absolutely not the other way around, because he's totally just tired.

[Feraligatr leans into Rin's hand, even moving his head a little for Rin to get juuust the right spot.

In the meantime, Silver... Looks rather content at hearing that. Some part of him wants to recoil and go no, he doesn't need help. Another part of him notices the "if"- if he needs them- and lets him accept the statement.]

I'll have to return the favor once I can stand up again.

[Shiemi shakes her head, her eyes still focused away from his face.]

...He glances over at Rin for a second before looking back at Shiemi.]

[...] Yes. When it's necessary.

[When it's necessary. Shiemi swallows a nervous gulp. She can think of many ways when someone would probably think it's "necessary," but if you're strong enough can't that be avoided? And Silver is very strong. Or maybe he just finds it... easier. Her hands clench, and grip fabric. How is a friend supposed to react to this? Does she support it? No, that would be- But she can't scold him on it either, can she?

Shiemi makes a noise of confirmation, just so he knows she listened.]

[And then the peanut gallery speaks up] That still wasn't necessary, what that soldier punk was going at.

[Resources, smesources. It's still not necessary to just up and execute people.]

[-Oh no. Don't you start, Rin.] What part of war don't you understand?

[Shiemi is quiet. She doesn't really have a position in this argument, so there isn't much for her to say...]

The part where you're perfectly okay murdering people who aren't even fighting back! [In fact, he stands now, damned if Silver is in a sick bed, because this is important] What, do you just like killing people or something?! And don't give me some crap of trying to sound cool by saying it's "necessary!"

[His eyes probably flared into cat-like mid-shouting there, and some flames probably sprouted along his shoulders and his fingertips and possibly out of his mouth]

[He opens his mouth to argue, to protest, but... No. That cuts too deep. That hurts, and it hurts far more than he wants it to.

His vision flashes to an R, to an organization, to silhouettes of masked faces laughing down on him, to Raven and Ingo, to Moro.

Moro.

The four Pokémon in the room start to get worked up and look ready to pick a fight with Rin, but Silver waves them down. No, guys, it's... It's okay.]

You know... Every one of those soldiers that weren't killed probably caught that awful disease. [He closes his eyes and lets out a sigh, but once he opens his eyes again, he looks so far away from where he is.]

[Shiemi stands up from the bed, and heads toward the door. She was getting riled up and about to yell at them both when Rin burst out in shouting, but Silver didn't seem to argue back. This... it isn't her fight. Maybe she'll take off to the bathroom pretending like she needs to go...]

[Rin snarls, and marches over the remaining distance to Silver to pick him up by the scuff of his neck. Or at least, that is his intention]

Necessary this and practicality that...

[He's plenty more to say, but this is a delay for if any of the pokemon intervene]

[Frustration sets in. Go ahead and get mad at him, Rin. Fine. Condemn him, if you want.] Wrong. I'm willing to kill to protect people, Rin. To protect the people I care about. And-
